Linking Theory to Action
The challenges confronting us today are enormously complex and profound. And they need social scientists to address them effectively. In the UC San Diego School of Social Sciences, as “we do the science of society,” we link theory to action. We are at the forefront of vital work – fundamental work, practical work and the theoretical heavy lifting that is needed to advance positive change. Faculty and student researchers throughout our broad and innovative school are evaluating and implementing research-based solutions, often in collaboration with scholars from many other disciplines. They do so within our departments and programs and in the research centers listed on this page.
