USP 198: Directed Group Study

Description: Directed group study on a topic or in a field not included in the regular departmental curriculum by special arrangement with a faculty member. This course is generally offered every other year. In Spring Quarter 2010, twelve students will be working with the Hillcrest Business Association to conduct research required to support the organization.s involvement in the Uptown Community Plan update process.  Students will conduct research on proposed strategies for strengthening the physical, economic, and cultural infrastructure of Hillcrest.  Students will work together on research teams and conduct research, interview neighborhood leaders and public officials, prepare a short written report, and present their findings to the board of directors of the Hillcrest Business Association.

Prerequisites: USP majors with upper-division standing and consent of instructor.
